Concept cartoons are two-dimensional graphical drawings that have proven to be one of today's important learning and teaching strategies in many studies. Concept cartoons can be used both in educational activities and in the evaluation of training. The aim of the research is to determine the general trends and possible deficiencies in scientific articles on concept cartoons in mathematics education. In order to achieve this aim, scientific articles on the use of concept cartoons in the field of mathematics education in Turkey between the years 2006-2023 were examined. In this study, the "descriptive content analysis" method was used, which provides the opportunity to review the general trends and important results in a particular research area and to evaluate them as a whole. In the research, 28 scientific articles on concept cartoons in the field of mathematics education in Turkey were examined. The data collected within the scope of the study were analysed by the content analysis method. The first scientific article on using concept cartoons in mathematics education in Turkey was published in 2006. The articles examined, it was aimed to examine the effects of the use of concept cartoons on various independent variables such as academic achievement and attitude towards mathematics. Most articles were published in the learning fields of "Numbers and operations" and "Geometry and measurement". In the studies, the most quasi-experimental design was used with 67%. A significant part of the research was carried out with secondary school students. Sample sizes are mostly below 100 people. Multiple choice tests, Likert-type scales, and written opinions were used most frequently as data collection tools. In the data analysis, t-test (f=17, 38%) and descriptive analysis (f=11, 24%) were preferred. Based on the results of the studies examined, it was determined that the use of concept cartoons had positive effects on the variables determined, especially academic achievement and mathematical attitude. Future studies should be designed with the participation of secondary school students and teacher candidates, considering different objectives.
