Summary
Günümüzde insan ve çevrenin birbirinden ayrılamaz olduğu bilinci giderek yaygınlaşmakta olup, müşteri tatmini çevre unsurlarını da kapsamaktadır. Çevre unsurlarının temelini ise, çevre sorunları ve çevre kirliliği konuları oluşturmaktadır. Son zamanlarda çevre kirliliği konusunun oldukça ön plana çıkmasıyla, işletmelerde çevre faktörü/kavramı gündeme gelmiştir. İşletmeler, çevre boyutunu da kapsayan endüstriyel faaliyetin her aşamasında Çevre Yönetim Sistemlerini (ÇYS) uygulamaktadır. Bu sistemlerin, çevre kalitesini yükseltmek ve kirliliği azaltmak gibi ekonomik yararları da bulunmaktadır.1996’da Uluslararası Standardizasyon Örgütü (ISO) Çevre Yönetim Sistemi oluşturulması için kılavuz niteliğinde olan uluslararası bir belgeyi gönüllü olarak yayımladı. Bu uluslararası standartlar ve onun kılavuzu ISO 14000 serisi olarak bilinmektedir. Serinin tanımlayıcı standardı ISO 14001 standardıdır. ISO 14001, organizasyonun çevre politikasını, uygulamalarını, yasal ve diğer ihtiyaçlarını tanımlayan, çevresel kalkınma için açık olarak amaç ve hedefler belirleyen, çevresel yönetim programı ortaya koyan bir ÇYS’nin tasarımı ve uygulanmasında organizasyona yol göstericidir. Bu çalışma İzmir İlinde üretim yapan ISO 14001 belgesine sahip olan farklı büyüklük ve çalışma alanındaki birkaç işletmenin, ISO 14001 belgelendirmesinden ne anladıklarını, bu süreçten beklentilerini ve beklentilerin gerçekleşme oranını ortaya koymak için yapılmıştır.

Abstract
Today the consciousness that human-being and environment are inseperable from each other has become widespread and also has included the subjects like satisfaction of customers and environmental factors. The bases of environmental factors are environmental problems and pollution. Nowadays, with the given attentions on pollution, in managements the environmental factor/concept has become a current issue. The managements, at every phase of industrial doings that contains the environment, use the Environmental Management Systems (EMS). These systems also have some economical benefits like increasing the quality of the environment/nature and decreasing the pollution.In 1996, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was released an international certificate which as a voluntary guideline for the creation of.Environmental Management System These international standards and its guide are known as ISO 14000 series. defining standard of series is a ISO 14001 standard . ISO 14001 has a leadin role in EMS design and implementation which defines the legal and other requirements of the organization, the environmental policy of the organization, practices of the organization, This work has been made to demonstrate what firms understand the ISO 14001 certification, the expectations of the process, the realization rate expectations firms awarded ISO 14001 certification engaged in the production of various sizes in İzmir.
