The aim of this research is to reveal the views of foreign students about Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution (APHR) course. The study was conducted with phenomenology from qualitative research designs. The study group of the research was determined by the purposeful sampling method and was formed from foreign students studying at Trabzon University and Kastamonu University in the spring semester of 2018-2019. 13 foreign students, 8 girls and 5 boys, from 8 different departments, were included in the study group. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis. During the analysis phase, both researchers were involved in the process, and the analyzed views were presented with their frequencies in tables. According to the results of the study, Atatürk's Principles and History of the Revolution course is seen as a lesson that represents national unity and solidarity, emphasizes the importance of national unity and solidarity, and that everyone living in the country should take. According to the other results obtained from the research, foreign students expressed negative opinions about factors such as intense course content, insufficient course hours, non-credit courses, communication problems, and participation being not compulsory although the course is compulsory. İt is suggested that Atatürk’s Principles and History of the Revolition caurse should be reorganized according to the departments, be given face to face, and be a credit caurse.

Bu araştırmanın amacı yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerin Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılap Tarihi (AİİT) dersi hakkındaki görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma nitel araştırma desenlerinden fenomonoloji (olgu bilim) ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenerek 2018-2019 bahar yarı yılında Trabzon Üniversitesi ve Kastamonu Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim gören yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerden oluşturulmuştur. Çalışma grubuna 8 farklı bölümden ve 8’i kız 5’i erkek olmak üzere 13 yabancı uyruklu öğrenci dahil edilmiştir. Çalışma grubundaki öğrencilerin daha önce Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılap Tarihi dersine devam etmiş öğrencilerden seçilmesine dikkat edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ile incelenmiştir. Analiz aşamasında her iki araştırmacı da sürece dahil olmuş, analiz edilen görüşler tablolaştırılarak frekansları ile sunulmuştur. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılap Tarihi dersi yabancı öğrencilere göre, milli birlik ve beraberliği temsil eden, milli birlik ve beraberliğin önemini vurgulayan, Türkiye’nin varoluş mücadelesini anlatan, ülkede yaşayan herkesin alması gereken bir ders olarak görülmektedir. Araştırmadan elde edilen diğer sonuçlara göre ise yabancı öğrenciler ders içeriğinin yoğun olması, ders saatinin yetersiz kalması, dersin kredisiz olması, iletişim sorunu yaşamaları ve dersin zorunlu olmasına rağmen katılımın zorunlu olmayışı gibi unsurlar hakkında olumsuz görüş bildirmiştir. Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılap Tarihi ders içeriğinin bölümlere göre yeniden düzenlenmesi, derslerin yüz yüze verilmesi, kredi değeri olan bir ders olarak okutulması önerilmektedir.
