Summary
The unprecedented rate of technological developments in the 21st century has necessitated a change in every area of daily life including the way we work, learn and communicate. The huge transformation in daily life has required people to be equipped with certain set off skills which are defined as 21st century skills. Information and communication technologies (ICT) literacy, being one of these skills, has gained the significant attention of not only the employers but also the educators. Since the main aim of education is to prepare individuals to the future by providing the necessary conditions, curricula have been revised by Board of Education in order to meet the needs of 21st century. The purpose of this study is to analyze the revised 9th grade English syllabus in order to detect to what extent the syllabus serves the aim of developing learners’ ICT literacy as one of the components of 21st century skills. The outcome statements and the coursebook activities have been analyzed within the scope of the study. The findings related to the outcome statements in 9th grade English syllabus, it can be said that from the 78 outcome statements only 6 (7%) outcome statements directly emphasize at developing learners’ ICT literacy.The findings are presented in tables and discussed.

Abstract
21. yüzyılda meydana gelen ve daha önce eşi görülmemiş bir hızla gerçekleşen teknolojik gelişmeler, çalışma,öğrenme ve iletişim şeklimiz de dahil olmak üzere günlük yaşantımızın her alanında değişiklik yapmayı gerektirmiştir. Günlük yaşantımızda meydana gelen bu büyük dönüşüm insanların 21.yüzyıl becerileri olarak adlandırılan bir takım becerilerle donatılmasını zorunlu kılmıştır. Bu becerilerden biri olan bilgi ve iletişim teknolojileri (BİT) okuryazarlığı, sadece işverenlerin değil, aynı zamanda eğitimcilerin de önemli ölçüde dikkatini çekmektedir. Eğitimin birincil amacı bireylere gerekli imkanları sunarak onları geleceğe hazırlamak olduğundan, öğretim programları 21.yüzyıl gerekliliklerini karşılamak amacıyla Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu Başkanlığı tarafından yenilenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, yenilenmiş 9. Sınıf İngilizce dersi öğretim programının 21. yy becerilerinden olan BİT okuryazarlığını ne kadar geliştirmeyi amaçladığını tespit etmektir. Çalışma kapsamında kazanım ifadeleri ve ders kitabındaki öğrenme etkinlikleri analiz edilmiştir. Kazanım ifadelerine ilişkin sonuçlar toplamda 78 kazanım ifadesinden sadece 6 (%7) tanesinin doğrudan öğrencilerin BİT okuryazarlığını geliştirdiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Bulgular tablolarla sunulmuş ve bu doğrultuda tartışılmıştır.
