Summary
Bu araştırma temel olarak on altıncı yüzyıla ait İstanbul Kadı Sicillerine dayanmaktadır. Bu sicillerde, merkeplerle ilgili çeşitli davalara ait tutanakları buluyoruz. Genel olarak hayvanlara özel olarak da eşeklere kötü davranıldığını farkeden hassas Müslümanlar ve gayrımüslimler mahkemeye başvurmuşlar ve hayvanalrın korunması yönünde kararlar çıkartmışlardır. Bu tutanaklarda evcil hayvanların korunmasına dair bilgiler verilir.

Abstract
This paper is based mainly on Qadi Registers of Istanbul of sixteenth century published. In these Ottoman documents, we find a kind of official proceedings on the legal rights of domestic animals from Ottoman law point of view. Some responsive Muslims and non-Muslims have filled a claime against persons who mistreated to domestic animals, expecially donkeys, at the Istanbul court of law of the sixteenth century.. They obtained a judgement against them from aforementioned court of law. Some important information about the protecting of domestic animals were given in these court registers In my paper, it was given short commments on these proceedings.
