Abstract


VISUAL CULTURE AND COURSE CONTENTS: THE USE OF VISUAL MATERIALS IN GENDER EDUCATION
Visual culture and visual sources are among the subjects of visual sociology. Visual materials such as cinema films, documentaries, photographs are used increasingly in university courses. Academicians’ choices of visual material using in their courses is an important point to be considered. For this study, courses on gender issues and courses in which the lecturer treats gender issues are selected as an analysis field. In the study, visual material using reasons and styles of academicians in their courses are examined. With this aim, interviews were done with academicians. In the study, after the literature review, results of interviews will be analyzed.
