The rapid development of technology is changing the profile of individuals needed by society. To meet society's expectations, it is necessary to raise the profile of individuals who are innovative, problem solving, critical thinking, scientifically literate and equipped with 21st century skills. Developments in science and technology are creating new opportunities in education. One of these is Augmented Reality (AR) technology. It is said that AR applications for different needs at all levels in educational environments have started to be widely used in the world and the use of AR applications will be widely used in our country with the FATIH project. Based on this idea, the aim of the study was to determine the effect of teaching the topic of Acids and Bases with AR technology supported PRA (Predict-Observe-Explain) activities on students' course success and to determine teachers' and students' opinions about the activities. The study used a one-group experimental design. The sample of the study consisted of 17 students (10 girls and 7 boys), who were studying in the 8th grade of a middle school in the Central Anatolia region in the 2019-2020 academic year. Five different activities, developed according to the acquisitions in the science curriculum developed for the teaching of acids and bases, were designed with the TGA method and enriched with the AR application. The Acid Base Achievement Test (ABAT) consisting of 19 questions and semi-structured interviews were used as data collection tools. The Mann-Whitney U test for unrelated samples, one of the non-parametric statistical techniques, was used to analyse the data. The interviews with the students were subjected to content analysis and the interview data with the course instructor were used as is. As a result of the research, it was found that the activities developed increased the success of the course and made the lesson more effective and enjoyable. Considering the results of the study, some suggestions were made, such as enriching textbooks with AR technology and enabling students and teachers to benefit from AR technologies in different subjects.
