Life satisfaction and happiness, which are important concepts of positive psychology, are frequently studied. Social media addiction is one of the difficulties that technology brings along with the convenience it offers to individuals. It is a matter of curiosity how the individual's perception of loving, being loved and belonging needs or the ways in which they are met affect the individual as a social being. Therefore, in this study, the effect of social support perceived by individuals on their happiness, life satisfaction and social media addiction was investigated. The aim of this study is to examine whether happiness, life satisfaction and social media addictions of university students are predicted by social support. The relational survey model, one of the descriptive survey methods, was used for the research. The study group consists of university students. A total of 418 university students, 297 (71.1%) female and 121 (28.9%) male, participated in the study. Oxford Happiness Scale Short Form, Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale and Social Media Addiction Scale were used as data collection tools. Multiple regression analysis was performed to seek answers to the research questions. As a result of the analysis, social support accounts for 17% of happiness; It was determined that it explained 21% of life satisfaction and 3% of social media addiction. It was seen that the first explanation of happiness and life satisfaction from the sub-dimensions of social support was the support received from the family. The sub-dimension of social support that explains these variables in the second place is the support received from a private person. The social media variable is explained only by the support received from the family. While the social support variable is a positive predictor of happiness and life satisfaction; It is a negative predictor of social media addiction. Accordingly, as the social support levels of university students increase, their happiness and life satisfaction levels also increase. In addition, as social support levels increase, social media addictions decrease. These results were interpreted based on the literature. It is thought that this study will be beneficial to psychological counselors working practically. According to the findings, psychoeducation for social skills can be done in order to improve the social support networks of university students.
