The concepts of power and authority in social and political life have been explained in different ways in different disciplines. In addition, as the source of authority, legality, traditionalism or charisma are among Weber's most important conceptualizations in sociological terms. Within this regard, in this study, as a type of charismatic authority, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's discourse on "authority", was analyzed during and after the Second Karabakh War, which was a historical context in the establishment of his authority, By examining language practices, context, speech and grammatical features in which the discourse is constructed, the "authority" built with the concepts of power and power through Aliyev's address, especially to the Prime Minister of Armenia, has been analyzed in depth. Discourse analysis defines power relations with the historical meaning of a problem that has not been resolved for many years, as well as reconstructing political power with discourse at the same time. A clearer understanding of the ways in which authority shapes social life and the processes of building power of actors is possible through discourse analysis. In this study, with the discourse analysis of Ilham Aliyev's Address to the Nation speech after the Second Karabakh War, it was aimed to reveal the establishment of charismatic authority through a historical text by analyzing the ways in which authority and power were put forward.
