INVENTORY OF NEEDS ASSESSMENT TENDENCIES IN PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY STUDY
In this study, a survey tool development study was carried out to determine the tendency of instructors' needs assessment in program development. Data were collected from 139 faculty members among the teaching staff working in the Education Programs and Teaching Department by using unselected sampling method among probable sampling methods. 46 (33.1%) of the faculty members were male, 93 (66.9%) were female. 82 (59%) of them has the title of assistant professors, 41 (29.5) associate professors and 16 (11.5%) professors. Inventory consists of analytical approach, descriptive approach, democratic approach and differences approach. Needs Assessment Inventory in Program Development consist of 12 items, 3 items in each dimension. When ranking in each dimension is decided, preferences number 1 is calculated by 4 points, preferences number 2 by 3 points, preferences number 3 by 2 points and preferences number 4 by 1 point. Analytical approach dimension .54; descriptive approach dimension .51; the differences approach dimension have a .44 and the democratic approach dimension has a reliability coefficient of .49. As a result, it can be said that this measurement tool is a valid and reliable measurement tool for determining the tendency of instructors' needs assessment in program development.
