Abstract


A RESEARCH ON RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN JOB SATISFACTION LEVEL AND DEMOGRAPHIC STRUCTURES OF WORKERS: TURKISH POLICE CONSTABULARY SAMPLE
Job satisfaction concept is an indicator of satisfaction levels of individuals from job they have. Job satisfaction and life satisfaction are correlated for personnel working full time; since their great deal of life is spend in work life. In domestic security services, working life is more front than private life, and for this reason, it is important to examine job satisfaction levels and its difference based on demographic properties of personnel in this field. For this reason, it is aimed in this research to examine job satisfaction levels and their differences based on some demographic properties of Turkish Police constabulary. In the research, (n=418) law enforcement agency personnel working at Ankara City police departments in 2015 year as police officer, sub-inspector, inspector, head inspector and chief of police were subjected to survey including Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale. According to results of the study it was found that Turkish police constabulary workers generally have low job satisfaction levels. Difference analysis results based on demographic properties showed that there was only statistically significant difference between exterior satisfaction levels of personnel based on age (p<0,05), and all differences based on other demographic parameters were found insignificant (p>0,05). As a result, it is required to increase job satisfaction of personnel in order to get more civilized structure.
