Resilience can be expressed as successful adaptation process and ability despite challenging or threatening life events, showing positive results under high risk, and sustainable competence under stress. The cognitive triad, on the other hand, can be explained as a negative way of thinking about oneself, the future and the world. Within the framework of the cognitive therapy literature, it can be said that the cognitive triad is closely related to the mental health of the individual. At this point, it is important to examine the effect of the tendency to compare oneself with others on the development of the individual's thinking system and to explain the relationship between thoughts and resilience within the framework of a model. In this context, the aim of present study is to investigate the predictive and mediating relationships between social comparison, cognitive triad and resilience. The study group consists of a total of 365 adult individuals, 271 women (74.2%) and 94 men (25.8%). In the study, Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Scale, Cognitive Triad Inventory and Resilience Scale for Adults were used as data collection tools. The data of the research were collected via the online form. In the correlation analysis conducted to examine the relationships between variables, low-level significant relationships were found between social comparison and view of self, view of world, view of future, resilience. A moderately significant relationship was found between resilience and the three dimensions of the cognitive triad. In the regression equation established to determine the predictors of resilience, it has been observed that view of self (β= .-42), view of world (β= .-23) and view of future (β= .-18) are significant predictors of resilience and these variables together can explain about 50% of the variance in resilience scores. In the mentioned regression equation, it was seen that social comparison did not contribute significantly to the model (β= .05) . In the mediation analysis conducted within the scope of the study, it was determined that view of self has a full mediating role in the relationship between social comparison and resilience.
