Abstract


AN INVESTIGATION OF PHYSICAL AND RELATIONAL AGGRESSION BEHAVIORS DURING PRESCHOOL PERIOD
This qualitative research examines the aggressive behaviour patterns of the young children attending preschool education institutions. Working group of the research is comprised of 13 boys, 7 girls total twenty 48-72-month-old children from five independent kindergartens and from the preschool part of a primary school, all located in the centre of Kırşehir. As the data collection tools, “Student Information Form, Preschool Social Behaviour Scale-Teacher Form and Observation Form” have been used. The results of the research reveal that physical aggressiveness has more frequently been observed among the preschool children when compared to the relational aggressiveness. It has been observed that boys show much more aggressiveness than the girls, but when relational aggressiveness is taken into consideration, more aggressiveness has been observed among the girls.
