Abstract
PRE-SERVICE SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHERS’ SELF-EFICACY BELIEFS TOWARD MUSEUM EDUCATION
This study explores pre-service social studies teachers’ self-efficacy belies toward museum education in terms of different variables. Survey method was used in the study. Convenient sampling method was used to determine the study group. 389 participants were taken place in the study group. Data collected by using instrument that authors developed. Findings showed that pre-service social studies teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs toward museum education are generally positive. Gender variable was not effective on self-efficacy beliefs toward museum education. 3rd year pre-service social studies teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs toward museum education were higher than 4th year pre-service social studies teachers. Pre-service social studies teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs toward museum education who took museum education course were higher than those who did not take the course. Pre-service social studies teachers’ self- efficacy beliefs toward museum education who study in Akdeniz University were higher than those who study at Niğde University.
