THE EFFECT OF EXCISE DUTY ON NEW CAR AND EXCISE DUTY CONSCIOUSNESS
As of the end of 2016, the excise duty which constitutes 26.7%, it is often the subject of come up because of the high volume of certain goods. Especially the excise duty on petroleum and natural gas products, tobacco products, alcoholic beverages and new car is high. For this reason, there is a significant effect of excise duty on the price formation of the mentioned goods. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of excise duty on the purchase of new cars and determine the its consciousness of the car owners. A questionnaire of 756 respondents who had zero cars in 2014-2017 was implemented to achieve the stated goal. Participants in the questionnaire stated that the excise duty was high in large numbers, that this was not justified and had a direct effect on expenditures and decisions.
