A RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF ENERGY GEOGRAPHY: USAGE OF WAVE ENERGY IN THE WORLD AND TURKEY
As a result of the negative of current used technologies effect on the environment and the reduction of fosil fuel reserves, renewable energy sources will be more important in the future. Wave power, one of the renewable energy sources, has an increasing popularity among energy sources in our country surrounded by seas. The energy demand of the world is increasing day by day and an important point in the Works done to supply this demand is generated energy from oceans and seas having a great potential as a ratio of ¾ of the world. Despite being a poor country in terms of fossil fuels, Turkey is a rich country in renewable energy sources. To reduce Turkey's outsourced energy dependence and to get rid of future energy crisis, domestic and renewable energy sources investments should be made asap without any delay. R & D investments in new energy technologies should be made to produce cheaper energy.
