Summary
İlkokul programları incelendiğinde değerler eğitimi bağlamında en çok yararlanılabilecek derslerden biri Sosyal Bilgiler dersidir. Sosyal Bilgiler dersi içerdiği kazanım, değer, beceri ve ara disiplinler sebebiyle birçok kaynaktan yararlanmaya olanak tanır. Bu kaynaklardan biri de günlük gazetelerdir. Bu araştırmanın temel amacı günlük gazetelerin Sosyal Bilgiler öğretim programındaki değerler açısından incelenmesidir. Bu bağlamda toplam 150 günlük gazete manşet, reklam, görsel, köşe yazısı ve haberler olmak üzere beş ana başlık altında Sosyal Bilgiler öğretim programında yer alan 20 değer temel alınarak doküman analizi yoluyla incelenmiştir; bunun yanı sıra Afyonkarahisar il merkezinde görev yapmakta olan 24 sınıf öğretmeni ile yapılan yüz yüze görüşmeler yoluyla değerler eğitiminde gazetelerden yararlanmaya ilişkin sınıf öğretmenlerinin görüşleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Doküman incelemesi sonucunda Sosyal Bilgiler dersi öğretim programında yer alan değerlerin tümünün günlük gazetelerde farklı oranlarda yer aldığı belirlenmiştir. Görüşme sonucunda ise sınıf öğretmenlerinin değerler eğitiminde gazetelerden yararlanma ve yararlanmama sebepleri; gazeteleri kullanma biçimleri ve gerçekleştirdikleri uygulamalar; gazetelerde en çok yararlandıkları bölümler; gazetelerde en sık rastladıklarını düşündükleri değerler; gazetelerde yer alan olumsuz içeriklere ilişkin görüşler; olumsuz içeriklerden çocukları korumaya yönelik öneriler, çocuklar için çıkarılacak bir günlük gazetede yer alması gereken içerikler bağlamında veriler edilmiştir ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Abstract
When primary school curriculum is analyzed, it is found that one of the most useful subjects to benefit from the concept of values education is Social Studies. Social Studies enable people to benefit from a lot of sources owing to learning outcomes, values, skills and subordinate branches that they include. One of those sources is daily newspapers.
The main objective of this study is analyzing daily newspapers in terms of values education. Within the context of that in total 150-days newspapers by five major topics which were; headlines, advertisements, images, columns and reports, investigated by document analyzing in the basis of 20 values that are in Social Studies curriculum; besides, the opinions of primary school teachers on making use of newspapers for values education, were tried to be defined as a means of face-to-face interviews that had been made with 24 primary school teachers who work in Afyonkarahisar city center. Following the document searches, it was specified that all of the values in Social Studies curriculum are seen in newspapers at different rates. As results of interviews, several findings were obtained in contexts of followings such as: Reasons of primary school teachers for benefiting or not from newspapers throughout values education processes; the ways their using of newspapers and the practices they carry out; the parts which from they make use of newspapers most; the values that they think they encounter most in newspapers; the opinions on negative contents take place in newspapers; advices for protecting children from negative contents; contents which should be shown in a newspaper that is released for children. Some suggestions were given in the light of these results.
