Abstract


REGIONAL DIFFERENCE IN TURKEY BY MISERY INDEX
At the national level as an economic indicator, unemployment and inflation rates of the Misery Index (Misery Index) has been introduced for the first time by Arthur Okun. This index, rising unemployment and high inflation at the national level is based on the assumption that the cause of economic and social costs. The purpose of this study, using principal components analysis technique, Misery Index, developed by adding social variables, NUTS-2 regions for the periods 2007 and 2010 the level of discontent with the Socio-Economic Index of regional discontent is to determine the comparative rankings by building. In the study, the statistical method of Principal Components Analysis technique, and 26 for the region as indicators of economic discontent, inflation and unemployment rates, as indicators of social discontent, the net migration rate, crude divorce rate, overall suicide rate, crime rate and participation rate used in a popular vote.
