THE EVALUATION ON GETTING PREGNANT THEME EXTRAORDINARILY IN FOLK NARRATIVES
The adventure of existence of Turkish nation which immortalized life styles, customs, traditions and beliefs by assimilating in folk narratives is being perpetuated in the cultural memory from the past to the present. In this regard, the narrations of which eternised centuries’ experience, knowledge and etiquette in oral tradition by writing include quite rich symbols and themes. The folk narrative handled with flawless synthesis of life and dream was dressed up with themes such as birth, marriage, transition phases of life like death, luck, determination of fate, extraordinary events, hospitality. Several symbolic values and extraordinary events attract attention particularly on themes such as marriage and pregnancy/ having a child which depend on marriage. Themes of getting pregnant while eating apple, feasting, praying, drinking blood, going to visit are the examples of them. Themes such as folk medicine, hospitality and extraordinary power get involved in the meaning area of these themes. In our survey, we are going to explain the value of these themes by the work of folk narration on getting pregnant and having child. Our gools in this survey are to solve thoughts about continuation of Turkish race, to maintain applications and to expose the meaning of folk narrations which Turkish culture has immortalized.
