RESEARCHING ABOUT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ OF PERSONAL AND SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT LEVELS İN TERMS OF VARIOUS VARIABLES
In this study, the relationships between the personal and social adjustment levels of university students were examined in terms of gender, school type, class levels, settlement, socio-economic levels and parental attitudes. Research is in the form of descriptive, relational model is based. Survey method and survey technique were used in the research. The research universe consists of approximately 5,000 students studying at Igdır University in 2013-2014; the sample consists of 832 students selected by easy sampling method. In this study, Hacettepe Personality Inventory and personal information form were used to measure the personal, social and general harmony of the individuals. Frequency distributions in the study, t-test for independent groups, one way analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis analysis were performed. According to the results of the research; there was no significant difference between students' self-actualization and social cohesion according to their gender, and their personal adaptation according to school types, settlement, perceived socio-economic levels and perceived parental attitudes. While there was no significant difference between the social and general adaptations of university students according to settlement units; School types, class levels, socio-economic levels they perceive and parental attitudes they perceive are significant differences between social and general adjustment point averages.
