WORKING IN DISADVANTAGED AREA FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SOCIAL STUDENTS TEACHERS
In this research, it is aimed to determine the problems faced by the teachers of social studies working in disadvantaged regions and schools. The descriptive research is in the survey model. The study group of the study has 10 social studies teachers working in X province of the Central Anatolia Region. The maximum diversity sampling method was used in determining the study group. The interview form was used to collect the data. Descriptive analysis, content analysis and continuous comparison technique were used during the analysis of the data. At the end of the research; low socio-economic level, dialogue, physical structure, management, occupational satisfaction and accommodation; in relation to teaching social studies; it has been determined that there are problems in the subjects where there are fewer hours of instruction, inadequacy of source books and tools, lack of sight-observation, differences between undergraduate education and practice. Problems experienced by students regarding social studies education; lack of social activities, low student achievement, students should find the course boring and they are not interested in the course, and access to technology is low.
