GEOGRAPHY TEACHERS’ AWARENESS LEVEL AND USE OF FEEDBACK
The main purpose of this study is to explore the awareness level and thoughts of geography teachers about the use of feedback on the learning process. With regard to its being purposeful and effective for the focus of the study, this is a qualitative study using case study, a common method for the qualitative research. The sample of this study is 27 geography teachers working in Sivas Province. The interview questionnaires are used for the data collection and these qualitative data are analyzed with the use of content and descriptive analysis. NVivo 10 is used in order to analyze the qualitative data. The findings of the study show that the geography teachers use exams, homework, concept maps and mostly question-answer techniques in order to identify the incomplete learning. The geography teachers participating in this research are asked to define the feedback and though there are some replies as its being a teaching method increasing the course motivation, it is generally seen that the teachers place themselves into a central role for the feedback and they see it as a vital importance to get information related with the learning process of students.
