Abstract


THE VIEWS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELLORS ON THE PERFORMANCES OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS IN THE MANAGEMENT OF GUIDANCE SERVICES
In this study, the views of psychological counsellors on the performances of school principals in the management of guidance services were investigated. The research group consisted of 24 psychological counsellors and guidance who were in-service in the provinces of Hatay. The data of the research were collected through the qualitative research method. The data were obtained with a semi-structured interview form and they were classified with the content analysis. According to the findings of the research, the psychological counsellors claimed that school principals exhibited the highest performance in the administration of guidance services on the implementation of guiding principles. The principals also demonstrated more performance in the implementation of the regulations and the taking of decisions related to the psychological counselling and guidance services. The principals have the supportive role in providing of necessary resources for guidance services.
