EVALUATION OF SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHERS’ OPINIONS TOWARDS IN-SERVCE EDUCATION
The aim of this study is to evaluate social studies teachers’ opinions taking part in in-service education about in-service-education. In the study, 16 teachers who are from Nizip county, Gaziantep province participated in the research, however opinions of 12 teachers were evaluated. The study was conducted by qualitative reseach techniques. Open-ended six questions taking expert opinions were asked to teachers. The tables were formed through categorized data. According to the tables, the social studies teachers stated that in-service education training was highly efficient. The participants informed that the traning improved education quality and helped to understand how learning took place without independent from the time and place. The study showed that in-service education should be also involved in alternative teaching techniques and methods with alternative measurement and evaluation approaches.
